Pair of Colorado Fillies Set to Run
After a summer of racing at Arapahoe Park, two Colorado-bred fillies will be back on the track out of state this week, with both looking for an elusive second lifetime career win. Runnin’ Riann, a Crystal Class three year-old owned by Linda Robertson and trained by Tyrone Gleason is entered on Saturday in a five furlong, $5,000 claiming event at Albuquerque, while She’s All Bling, another three-year old sired by Mingun, owned by Wafer Ranch and trained by Jon Arnett will go seven furlongs on Friday in an allowance event at the same track.
She's All Bling a 2012 state juvenile champion
The two fillies last met at Arapahoe at the CTBA Breeders Oaks in July. She’s All Bling, winner of the 2012 CTBA Lassie Stakes as a juvenile, went off in the Oaks as the 7-2 second choice, but came up empty after stalking the pace to the half-mile point in the one-mile race. She would finish fourth, her second out-of-the money run to start the 2013 season after having followed up her Lassie win with a second in the $28,000 Silver Cup Futurity to close out her two-year-old campaign. She has one win and two seconds in eight lifetime starts.
Runnin' Riann three times in the money this year
Runnin’ Riann has found a bit more success in her second year of racing, having broken her maiden at Arapahoe in mid-July, and managing to grab the show money her last two times out in claiming events, the last as the beaten favorite in a race at Albuquerque. Much like She’s All Bling, Runnin’ Riann raced close to the pace through the first half-mile in the Breeders Oaks, but lacked response when asked and faded to fifth. She has a first, a second and four thirds to show for eight lifetime starts.
