Colorado Horse Racing Tracks
As the only game in town, Arapahoe Park Racetrack is currently the lone live horse-racing destination in Colorado. Located in Aurora, the third largest city in the State, Arapahoe Park is owned and operated by the Mile High Racing and Entertainment group. The track is a one-mile oval with a dirt surface and racing runs from late May until the middle of August. Variety is the spice of life at Arapahoe Park as Appaloosa, Arabian, Quarter, American Paint and Thoroughbred horse betting action is offered during the summer.
Tracks & Venues in Colorado
For pony betting fans, a trip to Colorado isn't complete without a visit to one of the State's horse wagering venues. It's a short list but horse racing is fantastic in the Rocky Mountains.
Arapahoe Park
Nestled in the heart of the US Rocky Mountains, and located in Aurora, CO, Arapahoe Park Racetrack is the mile high home to the only live horse betting action in the State of Colorado.
Arapahoe Park began live racing for the first time in 1984 and has run live racing every season since then, with one year-long hiatus in 1985.
In 2014, Arapahoe Park introduced a special incentive to encourage their horsemen to race without administering race-day medication to their horses. For any trainer that wins without the use of a legal race-day medication such as Lasix, phenylbutazone, flunixin or ketoprofen, they will receive an additional $1,000 on top of the purse money.
